Hey there! Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's some tailored advice for on-cycle PE recruiting:

  1. Start Early: Given your background, you're in a strong position. Use your time at H/Y/P/S/M and your BB internship to network extensively.

  2. Networking: Reach out to alumni from your school who are in PE, especially those at Bain if that's your target. Being in Boston, try to set up coffee chats or informational interviews.

  3. Preparation: On-cycle recruiting can be intense, so prepare for it like you would a marathon. This means getting comfortable with LBO models, understanding different PE firms' strategies, and being able to talk intelligently about deals.

  4. Know the Landscape: Understand that on-cycle recruiting is incredibly fast-paced. Decisions are made quickly, and you'll need to be ready to interview at a moment's notice.

  5. Cultural Fit: Bain is known for its distinctive culture. Make sure you can articulate why you're a good fit for their specific culture and approach to investing.

  6. Deal Experience: Use your IBD summer to get as much deal experience as possible. This will be valuable during interviews.

  7. Stay Grounded: Remember, on-cycle PE recruiting is competitive and can be a bit of a "finance hunger games." Keep a level head and don't let the process define your self-worth.

  8. Plan B: Have a backup plan. If on-cycle doesn't work out, off-cycle recruiting can be a great path too, with more time to prepare and potentially a better fit.

Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint, and you're already off to a great start with your background. Keep your eyes on the prize, and don't forget to enjoy your college experience along the way!
