Opinion on Ancala Partners in London?
Was contacted by a headhunter about it. What is the culture of the team in terms of hours and general work culture / environment? Is work interesting? Partners are reasonable?

Was it Metis Partners the HH?
Ancala has a famously known to be quite tough. Typically demoting you when joining (look at all the recent hires, they all lost a rank). Culture is tough and turnover is quite high, easily comparable to banking 2.0 with stupid comments like 'oh you leaving at 6pm to catch a train on Friday? Have you taken your afternoon off?' or holidays being cancelled due to deal flow.
On the 'good side' they pay relatively well and have an interesting growth story.

From conversations with HH they do not pay well at all. They demote you and expect you to take a significant pay cut (assuming you're coming from a decent L/MM infra shop e.g. DC/Cantor)
Edgeworth partners is also running the search
Looking from the team page, they still haven't hired someone
OP - They've been looking for that junior for over 5+ months (assuming someone didn't take it and quit quickly)
I interviewed with them and they were probably the sharpest people I've met for their seniority but I got the vibe they work hard and the comment on it being a tough culture doesn't shock me
