Origination Research Analyst
I have had a job role shared with me for an "Origination Research Analyst" for a growth PE fund, where my responsibilities are stated to include research in market activity, developing and conducting prospecting campaigns, identifying targets, monitoring of pipeline, nurturing relationships, and building the companies database, around 75 companies expected per week.
Until now I have corporate finance internships and a bachelors under my belt. Can someone please better explain what this role would include, as I am quite sure based on the *low* pay and the fact that it is remote, I would not be traveling around doing DD or anything of the sort. Additionally, can this role lead to associate level, and more analytical work? I would be worried to take on this role without fully knowing what the opportunities would be later, or if it is even respected in the PE industry. Basically I'm scared of being a glorified stock screener who will be replaced by computer within 1/2 years, with no career progress opportunities.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!
