Could anyone come up with a few firms that offer part-time internships in PE (or maybe VC) in London? Right now, I only know of Better Capital that offers such an opportunity for students. Any other places you can think of?

Cold call and cold email middle market shops. Just because they don't offer part-time internships doesn't mean they can't be persuaded to. If you're feeling really ambitious, make an LBO case study and send that instead of a cover letter. It doesn't have to be super long, but enough to show people you know what you're doing and can see the big picture.
A stock pitch will have the same effect on ER/HF guys. I can't believe I used to send out cover letters with cold emails. Like anyone gives a shit.
