PE / Corporate Finance focused Strategy Consultant - How?

Hi guys,

I plan to start working in strategy consulting in Europe after completing my MSc in Finance and would love your advice on how to sharpen my profile for buyside roles or general corporate finance-focused opportunities, both during and after my time in consulting.

Some background about me:

Here are a few ideas I’ve been considering:

  • Certifications: CFA (though I wonder about its transferability to PE?), ACCA, CMA
  • Self-study: Deep dive into corporate finance topics with an applied focus
  • Job exposure: Actively seek out projects in CDD, operating model creation, and RX
  • Networking: Joining alternative investment clubs or industry-specific groups

Would really appreciate any tips, suggestions, or things I might be missing. Thanks in advance!
