PE Interviewing from outside of New York

I hope everyone is staying safe in light of the Covid crisis. I am currently a first year PE analyst looking to make a jump to a New York based shop during the on cycle recruiting process (I would be a second year by the time I interview), however, I am located outside of New York so I would need to take a day off to super day. My firm typically has a strict policy with regards to taking time off, and need to give notice a significantly ahead of the planned date. How flexible are PE firms with regards to flying down? How far in advance have you gotten notice that you have an interview? Also if anyone has any experience from a PE analysts position lateraling to another fund as an associate that would be helpful, especially given the lower reps that you get relative to IB.
