Hey guys - just wanted to get a couple thoughts from those WSOers that have gone through the pre-MBA PE recruiting process.
I was invited to a couple cocktail mixers by a couple PE shops in the upcoming week and next. What can I expect from these things?
And if you don't get invited to one of these things, does that mean you got no shot at that particular firm?
not all top firms do these types of events, at least not last year. I dont think anyone had mixers in Jan last year either though, so who knows - even a couple of the top guys were completely blindsided by how soon the process started last year.
but yeah, if they have them and you aren't invited, not a good sign, though doesn't necessarily mean you're out
Most of them were happening in New York last year and they were held by the bigger firms, I think. If you didn't get invited, fuck 'em. You still may be in contention for smaller lower MM shops.
