PJT RSSG/MF PE Recruiting

Sophomore at a top target (HYPSM) + EB M&A (EVR/PJT/CVP) among other things.

I find RX/MF PE much more interesting, distressed work + investing seems interesting, but I was wondering when the timelines for these open. If I want to reach out to Silver Lake, which takes analysts sort of randomly, when would I do that?

Just want to have a gameplan, before I fuck around for the next semester and half lol.

SLP reaches out during your junior summer. If ur H W S you should be able to get an interview. Y P prolly no. Not sure abt M.

RSSG recruits at the end of ur junior summer.

Warburg recruits during ur junior year.

Apollo fig recruits in junior spring.

Other PEs are quite random. Usually junior spring - senior fall.

All undergrad FT processes are ran by the firms themselves, except for Lindsay Goldberg which runs thru ratio

Ntwk-driven sure, but tbh for the places I mentioned above, don’t think ntwk matters that much - know a bunch of people got interviews just by being at a target & a top junior SA program with zero networking

lol at the no for Y/P/M. They literally hosted an event for Y/M folks during HY weekend in Boston. Top targets are all fungible, Y kids just generally aren’t as competent technically, and the top M kids aren’t really interested in PE

If u ultimate goal of exit is to HF then sure, but I thought u wanna do distressed or SS investing. Cuz I’m also into distressed and have no interest in going to HF in the future.

Even for buyout I rly rec doing dd into the firms. From the start my top firms have been: FP, Nordic, Bain SS. I think u should also balance exposure to deals/upward mobility w exit given u resume is alr top top and no need to build too much on it w pure brand name

Genuine question: who got to work on the TikTok and the EA deals?

Literally some of the coolest deals this decade and I’d be willing to do 4 straight years of add ons just to put acquisition of TikTok / EA on my resume lol
