Post PE internship career advice...Please advise!!!!

I am a new user of WSO and am seeking some good advice. I am currently winding down a 6 month internship with a middle market PE firm whose focal industries are healthcare, transportation/logistics, and food related businesses (cold storage, packaging, etc.). I have learned a significant amount from the experience including: how to build a 3 statement model (DCF & Valuation), how to create deal flow, due diligence and various operational aspects of portfolio companies.

I really enjoy the work and want to focus on PE, but am worried about what my options are post internship. I feel that I still need to work on my modeling skills and would sacrifice some salary (if needed) for more analyst training. My background is as such: MBA from IE Business School, 2 years running a start up I launched and sold, 2 years compliance consulting (boutique), 4.5 years HNW wealth management.

What advice do you have regarding how to effectively market myself and what channels should I focus on to gain the exposure necessary to land a full time job (Associate)? I would like to focus on Biz Dev given I am a very strong presenter/communicator. Sniffing out new strategic ad-ons or creating a new platform is where I want to focus.
