Prediction on 2028 On-Cycle Start?

Anyone have any idea what sort of timeline we're looking at for on-cycle start considering the anomaly that was last year. Have HHs disclosed anything?
Would be helpful to know, since many of us will have to choose to sacrifice a well-earned break in favor of prepping; and if on-cycle isn't set to start until later, then sacrificing a once in a life time opportunity to travel with friends before work to prep feels quite regrettable. Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, predicting the exact start of the 2028 on-cycle process is challenging, as timelines have varied significantly in recent years. Historically, on-cycle recruiting has been moving earlier each year, with some processes kicking off as early as mid-September or even earlier. However, anomalies like delays in 2023 (pushed to late August/September) show that external factors, such as candidate readiness or firm preferences, can influence timing.

The best advice is to stay vigilant and prepare as if the process could start earlier than expected. Headhunters (HHs) often provide subtle signals, such as increased outreach or scheduling coffee chats, which can indicate an imminent start. Sacrificing a break is a tough call, but being unprepared when the process begins could jeopardize your chances with top-choice firms. If you notice HH activity ramping up, it’s a strong sign to prioritize preparation.
