I know a couple of mates who worked had offers from the likes of ADIA/ Mubadala. Salary at this level varies depending on experience and professional background - average base AED 600k to 900k per annum plus 30% to 60% bonus. Carry is rare at this level! Note all compensation is tax free.

Is it true that progression to senior level is difficult due to nepotism?
Yeah and citizenship. If you are from a Western nation and are white/Arab you have a better chance at progression. Dubai has actual institutional racism where you get paid based on your passport, so if you’re from like India you will get paid 3x less than a European or a UAE local.
UAE locals are usually the most common to dominate leadership roles and so are Europeans. It’s a uphill battle to get leadership roles since there is so much random politics that go beyond work, can’t have too many non-Arabs in leadership, need to have some fringe royal’s kid progress upwards really fast, can’t have a South Asian managing UAE locals, etc.
If you think America has a fairness problem get ready for UAE, lol
