Private Equity Networking Event at Vista Equity Partners

Hi, I got an email from LinkedIn about a Vista Equity Partners networking event in NYC. For context, I am a rising sophomore in college, have been doing a Private Equity (very small firm and pretty small deals) since spring of my freshman year (continuing over the summer as well). I was pretty surprised to see this email, because the link says it would be helpful for the 2024 recruiting cycle, but that would be my sophomore summer, and as a non-diversity, I'm not sure what that really means. I'm just looking to see if it worth it to take the train to NYC from Hopkins (200-300 bucks round trip). Thanks and any insight would be helpful!
