PubFin to PE...
Analyst 1 at a top Public Finance firm (BofA, JPM, MS), not minding the work but feel like I'm gonna get stuck here. Is there any chance of lateraling to a MM/LMM PE shop or should I try to transfer internally to an actual IB group and then lateral? I don't mind what I'm doing and the hours aren't bad at all but it feels like there are no transferable skills to any other industry outside of the public / govt sector. Basically asking if I can get by in PE interviews with my only real modeling experience coming from online courses + undergrad classes
