Real estate private equity - financial analyst position

Hey there - I’ll keep it short. I just got an internship at a private equity company. I’m currently working as an accountant:( and I’m willing to leave my well paid job for this internship since its my university major and I’m genuinely want a career in finance.

I have zero experience in that field and I’m wondering if there’s something i can do on my own to get an idea and not start this internship clueless. What do you suggest i should do to get a better idea and practice some skill before starting the position. I may get a full time job so I want to do my best to excel at it.
