Reneging on p e offer for large SM seat
Currently in my 2nd year of banking. Signed mf pe last year and just received the hedge fund offer and unsure what to do. The fund is one where a seat opens up every 3-5 years and people rarely ever leave so I’m likely not going to get this opportunity again. Goal of mf pe was to exit to a fund like this one.

Interesting situation, i think you need to speak to more senior people (without revealing too much). I’d renege tho
This seems like a no brainer if you’re able to do it. Spots like this never usually open up and you get to skip MF PE. Somewhat relevant and it’s a good learning experience, but nothing beats on the job training and doing exactly what you will be doing 2 years early.
i think i know who you are...
Funny how everyone on this forum says MM HF > SM, then this person gets an offer at MF PE which is a better NPV than almost any HF role and they tell him to renege
Can’t believe you think MF PE is > NPV then almost every HF seat lol
