REPE to PE
I'm currently serving as legal counsel for a REPE shop (1bn) dedicated to commercial and hospitality RE and want to leave. I always wanted to do the move to PE and I got a couple of rejections from PE shops at final interview these last months. However I received an offer from a mid REPE firm (20bn) and I am wondering whther this is the right move. comp is great but i am afraid it can be the wrong move if want to eventually end up in a PE firm. I know my position is not finance related but i still enjoy the business side of my role and PE always seems more sophisticated and entertaining. thoughts on this/any advise ?
