Rushed into PE Offer
Signed with a MM shop after a long interview process and short exploding offer window.
I feel like I rushed into my decision and didn't ask enough/the right questions to be confident in my decision and I keep questioning myself.
I initially wanted a bigger fund for optionality/b school placement, but I liked the people and there's opportunity for direct promote and those close to me influenced me to accept.
Now I've been getting emails from HHs from my original list of top choices and am having a lot of regret. How do I move forward and become comfortable with my decision?

renege. also why is your dad in the picture??
Had conversations with my parents after receiving the offer and he pushed for me to take it. I wouldn't say he was the deciding factor by any means but definitely an influence in my decision.
can I give you advice? you need to lean on your own sword man. your parents (unless they work in this industry) need to stay the hell out of your business. they aren't monitoring the situation as closely and don't even remotely have the judgement basis to make a decision like this. just from the post I can tell you run stuff by them. I'm telling you dont. my parents (don't work in industry but smart) could give advice but they aren't keeping tabs on me. live and die on your own. people will respect you more and you will respect yourself more. best of luck
Isn't it pretty bad to renege in PE?
yes it's not the same for say a junior summer renege but if you already have an offer at a MF or wherever it is you truly want to go, then do it. Yes it will burn bridges but you're in this for you.
dad is a senior guy in the MM shop and wants to flex so makes his first nepotism hire with his son
You move forward by becoming a man and getting off your mother's teet
