Seeking Advice/Opportunities in Deal Origination (UK not London)

Hi all,

I'm looking to move into a full-time deal origination role and would really appreciate any advice, intros, or opportunities from those in the space.

I’ve spent the last 5+ years in M&A, primarily on the buy-side where part of my role was sourcing. I just don't enjoy the execution work. I’ve worked across multiple sectors and consistently found myself gravitating toward the sourcing side of deals. Enjoyed my days where I was building pipeline, market mapping, on the phones all day etc.

I’ve had a few interviews for origination-type roles that moved forward but fell away due to timing or internal changes. The consistent feedback I’ve received is that I present well, communicate clearly, and people can see me doing well in this space.

That said, I’ve been finding it tough to gain traction through networking alone and would really value any thoughts or pointers from others who’ve made this move or work in the space. I’m UK-based (Birmingham) and open to remote or hybrid opportunities.

Happy to connect via DM or reply here. Any help is msasively appreciated. Thanks in advance.
