Service Academy-internship ops

Hi everyone! I’m currently an incoming freshman at the naval academy(Indian male), I’ll be studying applied math and CS, studying financial modeling concepts thru EDX HES,
but will inevitably taking some fin. accounting classes.
I was wondering if anyone is in the same position and would have any input on their route into banking(but/sell side), consulting, quant research.
So far I’ve been able to intern at Morgan Stanley, and had conversations with some PE directors, IB managing directors, consultants etc., I’ve been following up with these leads, but I’m interested of there is any possibility of undergrad internships over the summers, and how I should go about competing for those opportunities.
I’ve been able to connect with a few academy grads, and most of them received MBAs before breaking into finance, without having done internships in undergrad. My thinking is, that most of the alums I talked to graduated a while ago, has anything changed, or will I have to wait before trying to intern at an IB firm?
Are there any programs or avenues I should try to look into, I was recruited to row with the lightweight rowing team, will that offer any leads or put me in a more favorable position from a recruiting standpoint?
Thanks, looking forward to conversing with everyone!
