StepStone Reputation
Hi! I’m hoping to learn more about how StepStone Group is regarded on the street from an investment (not advisory) perspective - I know they’re a FoF, but they seem to be leaders in the space and raise pretty large funds.
Any insights on reputation in the US/EMEA, comp, exit opps, etc would be appreciated, both for PE and Real Estate.
There are other posts on this forum, but with limited information. Thanks in advance!

Comp is straight trash.
Any insights on AN1 and progression?
Have a friend there. Comp is lower at analyst level as they hire out of undergrad but carry is significant there with big funds and VC team has upper quartile returns. VC team is well known in industry but other teams not as strong
Would second this, VC team is strong others mixed.
Would not join their RE team (or any other RE FoF)
Comp is ass, real estate is super shit, moreso in EMEA than the US.
Any more color here for US Co-Invest?
RE sucks globally, lost clients last year after a shit year
Got it thanks, sorry was thinking more general PE co-invest (non RE)
I know this is an old thread but could you provide more color on this? They just raised a record fund in the RE secondaries space...
Analyst comp at Stepstone is 110-115k with 50% bonus.
Not 50% bonus more like 20% and base is lower
Source I work there
Thanks! Any idea what comp at associate or senior associate looks like all-in?wouldn’t think carry comes into play until vp or principal given fund size..
Will defer to you but the 110 + 50% figure was given to me by HR/recruiting for an analyst role in the Infrastructure team.
What are your hours like?
Co-invest team is excellent and very highly regarded in the US and Europe. They see virtually all deal flow and the hours aren’t that bad
Awesome to hear. Any color on what range of typical hours are like (50-60, 60-70)? How is culture internally— are vacations respected and do people have lives outside of office?
Also would like to know what the hours are like?
Do they sponsor interns in London?
