Stone Point Capital? Any insights?

Does anyone have any insight regarding Stone Point Capital (regarding performance, culture, etc) ? The last post on the firm is pretty dated (~2009). It seems they're focused on financial services but have been expanding into fintech by investing at earlier stages.

Stone point is the best FIG PE shop. it’s reached UMM status with its fund sizes just purely focusing on FIG related stuff. I was at GS FIG and I’ve worked with 1/3rd of the people there now. they are really sharp and the pay is pretty damn good. used to be when you started as an associate you got some 7 year carry schedule thing that in effect was worth like a million dollars

uhhh yeah. but buddy you have you silo yourself at some point if you’re going to move up the ladder. you silo and advance and then if you’re lucky you get to re-expand (like going from head of FIG PE at BX to head of Global/North America Private Equity or whatever). you can do other stuff like fintech within TMT verticals as well if you really want to leave but Stone Point is like top for what they do so it’s not like they’re looking for exit opps unless pushed out.
