I haven't seen many great books on this subject, and I think that stems from 2 fairly obvious factors:

1, it's a hugely broad topic, when you consider the range of industries, sizes and strategies of target companies, and the degree of specificity one would need to consider in crafting a value creation strategy.

2, firms increasingly feel the post-close value creation playbook they employ is what constitutes their "edge" in winning deals, selling their partnership-value to management teams, and in raising capital from LPs. The potential income stream from publishing this info potential returns to keeping it proprietary.

That said, this book does give some helpful insight into a 100 day plan, and some of the broadly applicable value creation strategies (ie IT system evaluation and upgrades) are covered in helpful detail. (it can be found far cheaper than Amazon's price - just google the title) https://www.amazon.com/Value-creation-Middle-Market-Private-Equity/dp/1…
