People should be professionals and recruiting efforts should not be leaked, especially since your point of connection in your current fund with the MF is through their FOF group.
That being said, evaluate how much better the opportunity is. If this is Sigulur Guff (HH pinged about this last month, and they’re known as a FoF brand historically), maybe think about the upside. If it’s like Blackstone Credit (which I think SG was recruiting for back in March/April IIRC), then probably a clearer rationale to jump.
Siguler Guff has been on a downward trend for several years now - they lost a lot of talent. If it's with them I'd avoid unless the comp is outsized tbh.
Yeah I was trying to imply nicely that Siguler Guff didn't really have much upside lol. They don't even have that long of a track record doing direct investing I think
