Suggestion Needed

Hi all. I really need someone to analyze my situation, so here's the background.

I just got into a small PE shop with around 16 staffs and 600M AUM. They originally had three offices; 5 staffs per office. They opened a new office 6 months ago and placed only 1 person (VP) there. I am recruited to that new office through family connection this August on a two months probation.

I have to say the VP I am working with is so strange. I can only speak to her on business matters, otherwise it is IMPOSSIBLE to continue the talk. I tried so hard to get a good relationship with her but failed to do so. Seems to me that she's only interested in cats (Really, the one time I got her to start talking is when I asked "do you have any pets").

She's really busy, always on the phone, meeting, business trip, etc, but I am bored as hell. I went to her office everyday and said stuff like "Is there anything I could help?" or "Do you want me to get you some water or coffee?" and every times she replied with "No, but thanks." So I get like 1 assignment each week for the past month.

Last week she came to my office and said I only got 1 month left, so she arrange a meeting with the MD, who recruited me, to talk about the real offer. The talk went pretty well, but the MD said the VP is the one who has the right to make the final decision. After the talk, VP started to let me join the conference call, etc. But up until now she still haven't said anything about whether I am given the offer or not.

She almost never gives me feedback. I don't think I did anything wrong because I saw her forwarding my models, reports to the MDs without changing a word. And when I asked her questions through emails, she never replied.

Normally I know how I am doing, but this time I am really confused. Am I screwed or not???
