Cash ~ 400 Carry ~ 5mm Roughly 70hrs, I am willing to go down to anywhere around 300 base. It really all depends on the COL if I make a transition to a new location. Currently in NYC.

You could get a corp dev gig that nets 300 incl equity in nyc / hcol city. Doing that in an lcol place is a totally different ballgame. So partly depends on that. Id definitely reach out to some HHs with your selection criteria and go from there

This is some student or highschooler LARP'ing. Some of his recent threads include asking if he should transfer from his non-target (5 months ago) and another comment where he's saying he's working at a MM in SF (2 months ago). Next

You just gotta dive into your discomforts. I am currently working at a MM buy side form in SF. It took a little bit to get acclimated. I suggest ripping dating apps and finding a GF. Then you guys can rip the night lift together and start a family. It's alright man, you will get through it. And get fashion friends.

Probably best to move to Chi = Bos > SF where work culture differs and maybe going downstream in PE may give you more flexibility but should def do your due diligence on culture/wlb. How are you handling your burnout and managing stress? Are you taking care of your health or is it just the sheer stress from the work and responsibility you have?

I'm a bit suspect here honestly. I worked at one of the firms you mentioned and while I wasn't a VP, your cash comp is more comparable to that of an associate at one of these places rather than a VP. The DAW 5M carry tracks but it sounds like you're getting grossly underpaid cash-wise.

Surprised to hear that at these kind of firms you're "only" at $5m DAW? I thought they are outliers both in Cash and Carry comp? Just to confim, how many years of PE experience do you have in mind when referencing the $5m? Aren't you at most firms at ~$4m DAW, so was expecting these firms to be materially higher?

EDIT: Also, what cash comp would you consider more representative for these firms at VP level?

Wouldn't the lifestyle at these highly acquisitive portco's basically be just as bad as PE? And if not, why not, if they're effectively taking over a lot of the PE's responsibilities?
