I am currently researching the UK buyout market using the ThomsonOne database. Want to benchmark the capital weighted IRR's vs the FTSE100 during a certain year time-period.
Just don't get which measure they use normally in doing this. The option this database gives me:
- cumulative retunrs;
- pooled horizon returns;
- rolling horizon returns;
- pooled time-weighted returns;
- cash flow overview;
For the first 4 options, it is possible to show the capital weighted IRR. Do you guys know which option I have to select to find the proper returns to benchmarkt versus the FTSE100? Tried a couple of days already to find out, but really getting stuck.
