Thoughts on Ara Partners?
I would like to recruit for impact and/or climate investing PE. Is anyone familiar with Ara? In terms of brand name, genuine impact, optionality, and business school placement, how do they stack up to other impact funds like TPG Rise, Bain Double Impact, KKR Global Impact, Goldman SIG, etc.?
Known in the energy transition space for killing it their first few funds and have expanded and grown quite a bit to a notable scale. Don’t know much else beyond that
Appreciate it. In your view, what are Ara’s peer funds?
Any idea on what comp looks like and the headhunter for them?

Bump
Heard this through the grapevine, but the firm is deep in the water (take with a grain of salt). "Climate" investments are a hard strategy, esp right now. Early vintage funds are not returning capital and most of the investments are constantly raising new capital to stay afloat

Shady operators
Interesting. What makes you say that? I figured that, if anything, their impact mandate would make them less “shady” operators
