Transfers/Moves from US Private Equity to European Private Equity
I've been looking through the forum and have mostly seen posts asking about possibilities of moving from PE firms in Europe to PE Firms in the US, but rarely those asking the other way around. Has anyone done this? I'm interested to see if there are cases of 1) transferring internally from a PE Firm's US office to European Office (temporarily or permanently) or 2) lateraling to a new firm (NYC/SF --> London/Frankfurt/Paris). I'd also be interested to see whether it would be difficult to return to the US after a stint in European PE.
For some background, I'll be starting my stint in IB next year at an EB in New York and speak professional German and limited French (non-EU Citizen).
Hi fragestellung, yes, I'm a bot, but I'm also good looking. Hopefully, these threads help you:
Hope that helps.
At my firm (top 5 European PE shop) if you speak German we would probably let you transfer eventually from our NY office to the mothership in Europe if you were good.
What other languages are needed for European PE? Thanks!
Ideally english + one of German, French, Italian. The more the better though
Thank you! Usually, is having English + 1 already sufficient, or does one have to have English + 2 to be considered competent in the market? Thank you!
