Typical MM fund comp for T2 city
Looking into MM PE opps - what would typical base/bonus be for a pre-MBA Associate role in a secondary city (Philadelphia/Boston/DC) at funds in the $500mm-$1bn AUM range? Have heard $100k is typical base but don’t have much intel past that.
A few of my buddies work at funds like this: $100k-$120k base with ~100% bonus target is around the mean from the numbers they've told me.
So while the base is on the lower side (relative to banking or MF), seems like you have the opportunity to make up for it with your bonus. Any idea how it ramps over time?
It's highly fund dependent. Expect comp to be somewhere between third-year analyst and first-year associate at BB. All-in comp will be $180k - $250k. This is somewhat in-line with Private_Equiteer's comment.
Is this a partner track role? Any carry?
Partner track, but no real chance of carry pre-VP. Bonus is 40%
Bonus looks awfully low, what range was the base in?
Base was $110-120kish. Not sure how this comps against the local market but definitely coming in on the low side if you view from an NYC lens.
