UK & Europe - vs US - monthly vs. quarterly boards
Was wondering why UK / Europe tend to do more monthly boards in PE vs quarterly in the US
Seems to be a mix of:
- Public market legacy - US - quarterly whereas Europe more semi annual
- Director liability in the UK different to US - so end up having more oversight
- Time zones / geography - US larger generally
Any other reasons? Do you actually think either improves performance?
Appreciate there are variations like having monthly finance call or more regular contact with CEO / CFO / Chair etc. if in the US vs. quarterly
