heard they're going through some internal struggles and firm politics. Also rumors that their portfolio companies are tanking across both the consumer and tech funds, which aren't good for raising new capital or hiring.

Curious how you all think about a firm like this, which (from the outside) might have a few tough deals in the portfolio. Does that scare you off / is it something to keep in mind, or do you just take whatever role you can get in this market? 

Asking as I'm going through a lateral interview process myself and it's obviously a bit different than classic on-cycle / entry-level associate recruiting where you're just hoping for an entry into PE in some cases
