What are my chances in Private Equity?

Hello all,

I am currently a scientist in a pharmaceutical cie (6 years)

I want to leverage my scientific background in the P.E. industry.

My background

  • Certificate in Finance and Accounting (Ivy)
  • EMBA (Ivy) University.
  • Fluent in French, plus African dialects
  • Training on valuations, LBO, Merger and financial modeling.
  • BS in biology
  • Six sigma green belt
  • Supply Chain Management certificate

Is it possible to access the P.E. world?

Foreign languages aren't going to help you in the U.S. They will be a great asset in Europe though. I'd say you have a pretty good shot, all you are lacking is experience. Judging by your 6 years as a scientist, VC is probably a better fit for you. If you have your heart set on PE, there shouldn't be much out there stopping you.
