What Do PE MD's Care About In Interviews?

I need some advice :/

I just started PE recruiting, and I'm going to have a round with a young PE MD at a well-known fund in NYC for an associate position. Would you guys say PE MD interviews are similar to interviews with IB MDs? It is a small team, and this isn't by any means a final round interview.

My experiences interviewing with IB MDs always tended to be more conversational, as it's usually them trying to judge whether I was an enjoyable enough person to have around.

Do you think it would be fair to assume it's the same mindset here or should I expect him to potentially grill on deal experience/investment frameworks?
