What does a career path to Renewables/Cleantech PE look like without going into IB?

I'm a rising junior majoring in Environmental Econ. I go to a T10 target school, but I think it is very unlikely that I get into a BB IB...potentially IB at all, also not really upset about that because I don't really see myself thriving in the IB environment? I was hoping someone might be able to give me some suggestions about career trajectory and what internships I might want to look for going forward. Thanks so much.
