What exactly is the scope of private equity?

Hello -

What exactly is the scope of private equity?

Can a firm be active in, say, purchasing mining assets globally and still be considered to be private equity?

If they're purchasing things like mines, railroads, etc., not just companies per se, are they still considered private equity?

If not, what kind of investment firm is that?

Thank you

Private=not public (ie not traded on an exchange or otherwise broadly held) Equity=not debt (ownership not lending) Other than that it's all good.

Laxmonkey depends on the investment. Natural resources can be exploited/depleted, raw land can be sold to developers, etc.

There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.

private equity summary: they buy companies to make profits they usually make the company more efficient and use cash flows to pay off the cost

dunno bout hours but they prob suck bc its finance :/
