Which post-MBA path does an O&G geologist have the most leverage in?
Currently a petroleum geologist (BS, MS) working at an E&P (not a major) planning on pursuing an MBA in the fall of 2016 with the end goal of breaking into oil & gas private equity, via either IB or consulting. There's plenty of info on here about petroleum engineers going into finance, but I'm unsure about whether a geologist would be afforded the same advantages. Is PE realistic or would BD at a major or large independent be more appropriate? Or energy group at a consulting firm? I haven't been able to find many profiles of ex-geologists out there.
