Obviously there are a lot of things that suck with doing deals and the day-to-day grind of portfolio company work, but I felt like the positives above outweigh the negatives.
Value creation that comes from control. I’m in a more turnaround oriented seat and this is simply what I like. In public equities you have zero control and you’re exposed to the problematic child market, where you might be fundamentally right but the share price might go in the opposite direction
