Windows laptop for modeling tests

My personal computer is a Mac, so I want to get a windows computer to be able to do Excel practice and eventually actual modeling tests on. I have some wiggle room in my budget so I don't want to totally cheap out, but I definitely don't need to go crazy. Thanks!

Just grab one of the Lenovo's. Think that's pretty standard and they are pretty good. I am sure there are better options than that, but Lenovo's are good work horses and work well for excel for any reasonable modelling test given it can run infra models fine. Modelling tests are more so a check the box thing not going to get you an offer.

let me know if you manage to find one that gets the job done. its cyber monday so might be agood time tbh.

Agree with this. Lenovo Thinkpad that has a numeric key pad (ie in bottom right corner of keyboard) and a 14inch+ screen. Ideally 16gb ram but 8gb ram should be fine and is better for budget

This is what I used and got a MF offer. Totally doable. Modelling tests are check-the-box things and the laptop you have is very much a highly dimminshing marginal return. Once your laptop can run excel without a lot of lag, it's very minor differences in timing.
