Advice on MBA Internship - RE

I’ve got a background in finance and had a stint at a commercial real estate firm before coming back to business school. I’ve come into school open minded about going development or acquisitions as I’ve liked both. I’ve recently gotten an internship at a LifeCo rotating through their RE investment team which I’m excited about. However, for roles post school, will this strictly limit my route only to investments? I had very good traction with internships with top Development firms but didn’t pan out to things out of my control.
