Used to work with their team a good amount, everyone there is super sharp. They work on some of the most interesting deals. When I was leaving my last role I had 2 rounds of interviews there and got the impression the culture is pretty tough. Senior guy I interviewed with bragged about staying in the bullpen past 11pm a lot of the time, and working weekends. Honestly wasn’t my cup of tea but if you do a few years there you can go anywhere.
what do you mean by “go anywhere”? what even is the exit from that?
Aren’t they the old Square Mile guys? Very smart, sweatshop, I believe pay very well, and are assholes lol
USAA's RE investment management arm acquired the balance of Square Mile back in 2021, then they rebranded to Affinius after a management buyout from USAA a couple years ago.
We've exited a couple deals with them and have another big one currently in process. Super sharp guys and do cool/complex deals, but would echo the sentiments on here around being sweaty. Len (CEO) is about as well versed as it comes in every asset class and has them chasing really interesting stuff.
I've done a deal with them and was left with good impressions. Imagine it is quite sweaty because they do some pretty hairy deals...
