Anyone have some insights into AIG's Global RE practice, or working for a LifeCo in general? Sounds like they have really revamped their team and practice over the last decade.

AIGGRE is based in NYC and covers every food group and region. LA and SF are their next biggest offices followed by regional outposts (EX: Atlanta focuses on student and senior housing).

Yes they have revamped their team. Know someone who has been there a few years and seems to like it. They have been doing a lot of multifamily development.
As Jim1234 said, definitely depends what division. But if acquisitions, focus is more on core real estate - so not value add or opportunistic so generally less creative business plans. Life companies will JV with GPs so less hands on and less knees deep in the actual real estate and markets.
