Personally tried to get info on them here myself, and little seems to be known of them.

Spoke to them about a role. YMMV but found it to be a disorderly process, with a recruiter who was oddly disorganized and didn’t know WTF he was talking about. Was told after a promising initial that I’d go to a second round but they reversed course and hired someone else before having that second round. I understand this was just one experience so take it with salt.

Interviewer told me flat out that “things take a very long time to happen here”, “collaboration is important and you won’t be making decisions unilaterally about things”, etc. Sounds big, consensus driven, cushy but slow moving.

Know folks past & present from AVB. It’s an enormous public REIT, so yes very bureaucratic and everyone has a specific function rather than wearing many hats. Can be slow moving on decision making but for an internship, it’s an extraordinary name to have on the resume and there’s a serious expertise of multifamily operations there. Believe they still pool analysts, so there’s a chance your offer converts to full time gig, particularly if it’s in the Arlington HQ.

I have also heard from friends that HR can be a mess, don’t let that taint your view of them as a firm.
