Background check discrepancy PLS HELP
Hello,
I recently received an offer from a PERE Top 20 firm, and I am really excited.
My concern is that they ran a background check on me, and were unable to verify one of my employment experiences (they verified the other more important one successfully).
This is because the internship was informal and unpaid. I gave them the phone number of the Founder who "hired" me and offered to provide as much info as I could. I also gave my reference a heads-up that a third party would call, but maybe they didn't answer the phone. The internship was very informal, especially since the company doesn't have a website, email, or full-time employees (I think this is making them doubt me even more).
Is not being able to verify the employment going to get my offer rescinded? Should I be proactive and tell the company about my situation?
Any advice is appreciated!!!!

In all seriousness, ask the owner/principal to write a formal letter with dates of employment, this should work.

If you have an offer letter or email that will help too. And for the previous one draft the form letter so he just has to sign it and send it back.
It was Vandaley actually, Kramerica isn’t in PERE100 this year.
Would definitely not bring this up unless the company let you know there’s a problem. Honestly chances are they won’t care - but I would still try to get your former employer to cough up a letter of employment just to be safe.

Yeah it's not on you, had this issue for an internship where they couldn't verify my role somewhere so I sent a check and offer letter.
Just write out a letter saying your name worked here as xyz in the summer of xyz and send it to the founder (how'd you talk to him if no email??) send it to him telling him a full time job needs to confirm your employment.
