Bank Lending - RM Comp

Trying to get an idea of market comp for CRE bank lending. Coming from debt brokerage with a production goal between $100MM - $200MM. Will be mostly construction with occasional term stuff.

West Coast, if it matters.

Thanks.

First year RM should be 120-130k base with ~20-30% bonus. It's a slow(er) progression upwards however I've heard of RMs with 7+ years of experience clearing 400k at the larger banks.

Out of curiosity, why are you leaving debt brokerage? Ignoring work like balance, I always thought a good debt brokerage team can be A LOT more lucrative than banking.

It is for a Sr. RM position at a large regional bank.

Burned out on brokerage. Obviously a very lucrative path for top performers but basically everyone you deal with hates you. Developers resent the fees and lenders (other than agencies) resent your existence. And I hate schmoozing. Obviously there is some of that in bank sales roles but much less and work life balance is much better.
