Becoming Section 8 Landlord
To any and all that have experience with this (both good or bad), what is the process like for becoming a Section 8 Landlord or shifting from traditional rent to accepting a certain amount of Section 8 vouchers for a pre-existing building (meaning it has already been under ownership for a number of years)?
I am just now starting preliminary research but figured I'd poll the audience. Is it as simple as contacting the local authority and getting approval to accept the vouchers? Or, is it a multi-year/multi-layer process that takes time? We have found that there has been an uptick in the amount of prospective tenants needed this sort of affordable housing so we are curious if we can capture that market share at all.
