Best ways to ask for work to get raises and promotions

Given the current market condition, most institutional players are pencils down. As an analyst working on the investment side, What are some of the best ways to ask for additional work to stand out and potentially secure a pay raise and promotion by the end of the year. 


Fund size is ~$20B, and we are not underwriting any deals due to the denominator effect. Dispositions take forever to execute, since there's a lot of dry power in the market.
