I will be getting my Masters at SMU in Real Estate with a goal of getting into acquisitions in Dallas at a small-mid sized PE firm. Although also interested in development. Is this a reasonable expectation or should I expect to start somewhere else and transfer into an acquisitions/development role? If it is unreasonable, where should I expect to start and what does the typical path look like?
