Brokerage to Mid Level Acquisitions

Is it possible to jump to acquisitions and bypass the analyst level?  If someone had serious capital markets brokerage experience (SVP Level) and a (HSW) MBA would it be feasible jump to an acquisition manager/director level role at a buyside shop with north of 1BB AUM? I can work in these firms' models, but I wouldn't consider myself hyper detail oriented. I believe I'd be better at the bigger picture aspects of the business.

100000%, I would say a firm with $1billion AUM is even small. Lots of opportunity out there, not exactly sure about such a senior level but reach out to principals you've worked with and know well to explain the situation. You can definitely land on the principal side and at an amazing shop with that background, just have to network with people there and I'm sure at your level and you know a lot of people and if not you know someone who knows someone.
