Brokerage/RE Market

I've been in debt/equity brokerage for a little over a year now, after having a little success in the debt fund space for about 5 years. I went to a boutique shop that offered me a good split to go there. My specialty coming in was MF and specifically bridge/construction, but I've struggled to gain significant traction in building a book. I'm 100% commission, and responsible for bringing in all of my own business, so I'm financially feeling the pain. I wonder if its time to shift gears and try something else, or stick it out. I have conflicting thoughts ranging from "you'll find a way, this is just what being an entrepreneur/taking risks to start something feels like" to "this is probably not the right market to try to build a book in". There are days where after making cold calls, checking in with people, doing whatever i can to work on a new deal, I feel that I'm just banging my head against a wall, and that I'm just lying to myself that I'll find a way. Finding deals/getting clients in brokerage takes time, and a lot of outreach, but the market feels abysmal at certain points. Anyone in the brokerage, or entrepreneurial space have any advice or past experience with this?
