Brookfield Public Securities Group

I have an upcoming interview for a summer internship position with Brookfield's Public Securities Group. I'm wondering if anyone has insight/experiences they can share about the group (literally anything you can share).

Also curious if anyone has gone through this interviewing process before and can share anything about the recruiting process.

Thank you!

Haven’t had many dealings with Brookfield public secs since the end of the JV with AMP Capital a few years ago but they have good AUM, and invest across all real assets and in both debt and equity. They picked up a smaller infra investment advisor recently I believe. Will continue to gather assets.

Main point to know is that real assets really compliments Brookfield’s direct side - for example GGP going private and Intu which is being taken private now will have seen the public markets group at the forefront of this transaction.

More generally aside from being a higher margin business than direct real estate the public side provides research and market advice to the direct side which is always interesting in my view.

I focus on EMEA stocks now across real assets and don’t see they on many shareholder registers. Not sure how much of their AUM is in benchmarked relative investing vs Brookfield investing to compliment their entire portfolio I.E if they don’t have a data centre platform they’ll have a big presence in data centre reits etc. That’s just my guess, I don’t see them much in Europe currently so can’t offer much more.
